Building pocket – basic component for sliding door system
The basic component of the sliding system is represented by a building pocket. This pocket is inserted to pre-adjusted building aperture. Particular door wing smoothly drives into the pocket thanks to mounted cornice. The building pocket consists of a metal frame and a pocket made from adjusted galvanized sheet. Other essential components of the whole system are a head jamb and a trail that is going to guarantee smooth movement of the door wing and durability of the sliding system.
Various modifications of building pockets (according to wall thickness and type):
We supply a wide range of building pockets, so you can choose from various pocket kinds while every single one is convenient for differently solved interior. Every kind of building pocket is divided into two delivered sizes.
Narrow pocket (73 mm thick for plasterboard, 82 mm thick for brick board) is convenient for a board that is 100 mm thick and is possible only for solid doors, glassed doors with the absence of glazing bars or full glassed doors.
Classical pocket (100 mm thick) can be used for the wall thickness that is not less than 125 mm (after final adjustment). This pocket is convenient for any door model.
Basic kinds of building pockets (according to characteristics of interior):
STANDARD | KOMFORT | UNIBOX | PARALLEL |
Basic kind of pocket for single doors | Set of two pockets that are connected with a special bar that is mounted at the top of the system and that enables movement of doors. This synchronized mechanism of door sliding is included in the price of pocket. | Set of two pockets where both doors are pushed (during opening) to the same space between these building apertures, so they are hidden in the surrounding wall consecutively. | Kind of building aperture for double doors that are going to be open in the same direction. Both door wings stay in parallel in the surrounding wall when doors are closed. |
Building aperture with already mounted building pocket should be adjusted according to these parameters:
Width of building aperture (integrated building pocket): exact width of doors + 60 mm
High of building aperture for classical doors (from the finaly adjusted floor to the cornice bottom part): recommended 2020 mm (at least 2015, max. 2025 mm)
TIP: For example for the door frame that is 80 cm widht and 197 cm high recommended width of building aperture is 860 mm (the least possible width is 860 mm - in case of straight angled building aperture, maximum widht is 900 mm for ideally adjusted aperture).
