This is the most efficient space-saving solution. In the open position, the door panel is hidden within the pocket frame. However, its embedding into a wall or drywall partition must be planned during the early construction phase. Otherwise, if you decide to install it during a renovation, it will require significant reconstruction of the wall. Additional details can be found in our article about sliding doors into a pocket frame. Additionally, the pocket frame construction does not have a load-bearing function, so a structural lintel must span its full width. The practical benefits and modern design of this solution are worth it!

Which model to choose?
You can choose your sliding doors, whether wall-mounted or into a pocket frame, from our interior door collection. You can select not only the design appearance but also various door surface finishes with different levels of durability and distinct or neutral decor options. Multiple door core options are also available.
TIP: The thickness of the finished wall can pose slight limitations when choosing a door model. If the wall thickness is too small and a narrow pocket frame must be used, we do not recommend selecting door panels with prominent frames, as they may prevent the door from sliding into the pocket. Conversely, narrow frames are ideal for fully glazed doors. Standard pocket frames for walls 125 mm or thicker are suitable for all our door models.
Choosing the right pocket frame is also important!
![]() | Single or multiple - first, decide based on the number of doors: Different frames are needed for single-leaf doors, while double-leaf doors use two frames connected by a guide rail. Special frames can accommodate multiple door panels. |
Next, consider the type of wall where the frame will be installed:
Most frames are available in both types, for installation in brick walls or drywall. They cannot be interchanged, so careful planning and knowledge of the wall type are required before ordering a pocket frame. Frames for brick walls are equipped with reinforcing mesh for plaster application. Drywall frames consist of profiles similar to those used for drywall partitions, making installation into drywall grids as easy as possible. When ordering a frame, knowing the future wall's thickness is essential.

Even sliding doors sometimes need a frame
The frame primarily serves a design function here, as the door panel itself is not attached with hinges but moves along a track within the pocket. The casing frame encloses the construction opening and covers the upper part of the sliding system. These doors can be locked using a special set for sliding doors. The lock works on a hook mechanism that engages with a strike plate. Sliding doors do not have handles, so they cannot be equipped with a standard latch lock.
TIP: The type of frame you ultimately need also depends on your chosen pocket frame.

Hardware is essential!
Sliding doors use recessed handles instead of traditional handles, which are embedded in the door to avoid interference when opening, or handles. The variety is extensive, with options for surface finishes, oval or rectangular shapes, and custom design details like inlaid materials chosen by the customer.
