The fireproof doors are doors with special construction that aims to stop the fire, smoke and heat to be spread quickly. The fireproof doors are divided into several groups according to their fire resistance. The resistance to fire is expressed by a time period after that doors are going to loos their fire and heat resistance ability. Fire resistance rating units are represented by minutes that express a guaranteed period of doors fireproof ability. So you can see groups of fireproof doors marked as 1, 5, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120 or 180.
In reference to attestation in compliance with valid legislation (ČSN 732810) the fireproof doors are divided into two groups:
- EW – with fire regulating function – measured is an amount of radiant heat that is radiating from the surface of hidden side of the door wing (side that is not under the exposure of fire).
- EI – with fire preventing function – measured is a temperature of the surface of hidden side of the door wing (side that is not under the exposure of fire).
